Abruzzo Weekend
REACHING THE BIGGEST PARK FOR YOUR HOLIDAYS: SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE
It is so nice to get to such a welcoming place where the green color is all over the place, where everything is within reach,
thanks to a close road and rail network., allowing to reach very easily the seaside and the mountainous inland areas. In
Abruzzo, at a twinkling of an eye you can have very different emotions, from the splendid scenery of the National Parks of the
Apennines to the characteristic coast, now low and sandy, now high and jagged.
AN EVER CHANGING SEA
The Abruzzese coast strikes you for its variable scenery and the pleasing climate. In the north there are spacious strands of soft,
golden sand with dense and fresh pinewoods behind you. In the south the coast changes radically, it rises and pebble beaches
appear, surrounded by a beautiful nature. Every now and then a small cove winks at those who love diving and wild
nature. It is a unique experience swaying on the waves of the Adriatic, with the snow-covered peaks in the background.
ABRUZZO, EASY TO REACH, EASY TO KNOW.
Abruzzo with its strategic position at the centre of
the Adriatic coast is well connected to the north
and the south by modern motorways and an
efficient railway network. In less than three
hours you can reach Bologna, Naples and
Bari; in five hours Milan and Venice.
All the ports of the Abruzzese coast are
connected to Rome by a motorway that
takes you there in two hours. The
Pescara station, key point of the entire
Abruzzese railway system is considered
among the most modern in Europe.
Pescara, reachable from other coastal
centres in an hour at the most, has a
modern airport with a daily domestic
flight service (Bergamo, Cagliari,
Catania, Olbia, Verona, Turin and Milan)
and some seasonal international flights
(Barcelona, Brussels, Bucarest, Frankfurt,
Düsseldorf, London, Oslo, Paris, Split).
At present a seasonal maritime transport service
leaves from Pescara for Croatia from Vasto
the Tremiti Islands.
All the mountain and hinterland centres can easily
be reached thanks to an excellent internal road network
and a good public and private bus service that
connects Abruzzo to main Italian and European cities.
